Tastebud Ministries was founded May, 18, 2003 by Gerald E. and Kim G. Anderson. The first service was held at:
5712 Martin St. in Fort Worth, Texas at the El Lago Mobile Home Park.
Tastebud Ministries’ foundation is based on Matthew 25:35~36 ~ 35For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.'
We feed, clothe and encourage the homeless/less fortunate. Bi-weekly the church prepares food to deliver to the Presbyterian Night Shelter. Thanksgiving and Christmas we prepare meals, gift bags, provide clothing, hats, socks and warm blankets to those in need.
This faith based, non-denominational, multi cultured church stands on the word of God and believes it is the duty of “all” men, women and children to be disciples of God.
The mission is to worship God in spirit and in truth, proclaiming His love, power and saving grace to others. We minister to the needs of those in our fellowship, community, state and hopefully in the near future worldwide. We evangelize, educate, encourage and edify the body of Christ.
In an effort to more effectively and proficiently fulfill the mission of Tastebud Ministry, Pastor G. E. Anderson is currently enrolled in:
Arlington Baptist College
to become better versed in the word God. Schooling isn’t taking place for the purpose of obtaining a degree, it’s being done to edify and ensure that God’s people are receiving the most accurate and articulate teaching available. Hosea 4:6 says ~ 6My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children. Promoting education is a top priority with Tastebud Ministries. In fact, we support our college students by blessing them with a small token of our encouragement when going off to school.
Pastor Anderson is a 22 year veteran of the Fort Worth Police department with an eloquent track record and credentials. He serves as Police Chaplin in district seven; is coordinator of CAPA (Clergy and Police Alliance) and he is the Chaplin with the Police Officers Association. In addition to his work responsibilities he is very involved hands-on with Tastebud Ministries.
Our church has grown from originally having 15 members to over 200 members within the first 4 years. All positions held in the church are strictly voluntary; no one receives monetary compensation for doing the work of the Lord. We are staffed with one pastor, 3 ministers and 1 deacon. One of the ministers doubles as the church secretary.
We are a small church with a heart for serving God and believe that we will grow massively once we are in a building where our efforts can be seen by those seeking God.
Our projective goal is to increase membership by 1500-2000 members by the year 2015.
We have on average 6 worship services each month in addition to bible study, Sunday school, choir rehearsal, praise dance rehearsal, evangelism ministry, and numerous other activities.
As you can tell we are very active in our community and make ourselves available to those in need.
Pastor Anderson has shared his vision of a church large enough for 7000 plus to give praise and worship God.
We are not a MEGA-CHURCH, we are a MEGA-MINISTRY! on A MISSION TO save a BILLION SOULS and proud to be servants of Christ.
Our CHURCH MOTTO:
Start low, proceed slow, rise higher and catch on fire.
We will not stop until we reach-out to as many individuals as God allows.
